My Morning Postcard From God
May 3, 2012

The view through my large front room window,
third one on the right,
is a postcard sent to me every morning
from God.
The view is ever changing
from one year to the next. ....
yet it's ever the same.

Imprinted on God's postcard to me are ancient Juniper trees,
rolling hills - now a crisp, spring- green,
sprawling valley and town eleven miles away as the
crow flies - sometimes as the eagle flies!
Crane mountain caps the view with
it's garland of snow ....  it's crowning glory.
The words He sends to me every morning
are written in my Bible, resting open in my lap
while I'm sitting in
"Marie's Chair."

The post and rail fence we put in years ago
is now bleached almost white
from the wind, snow, rain and sunshine.
Standing guard at the entry archway
are barrels bursting full of tulips - hoping to
bloom and flourish before the deer discover them.

My lawn, now mostly clover,
is greening and looks healthy.
The neighbor horses are invited occasionally
to "mow" the clover as it grows and deepens to
a plush green.

Little Man nuzzles into the weedy flower bed,
while Teaser delicately pinches off the clover.
...................................................................................................
NOTE:  If you read one of my posts at the end of last summer
I told how Little Man, my neighbors horse, had to be put down due to a
crippling hoof disease.
So sad......we all cried .....
BUT WAIT ......THERE'S MORE!
The people who took him and were going to gently ease him
out of this world
couldn't do it.
They can afford to give him the medicine he needs to be
comfortable!
And when the time comes that he isn't comfortable   .......
Mmmmm.
For now it's good news
because I
love that funny
friendly
huge
gentle
clown of a horse.
......................................................
The daffodils!!!!
Oh my
how beautiful they are ... in places I hadn't planted.

Daffodils remind me of the golden sunshine
I look forward to this summer .... for however
long summer of 2012 may be before an early snow ....
in September!

This was my pond last summer  .... so lovely.
I can't wait for the irises and snapdragons to bloom.

Eldon's greatest joy as spring warmth awakened his goldfish was to catch a bug ... fly, moth, whatever ... and lean down toward the water for the bravest goldfish to take the juicy tidbit out of his fingers. We called our 37 goldfish "Golden Popsicles" since they hibernated all winter long, hiding in rock caves we built in the deepest part of the pond.

The largest goldfish, her name is White Eyes,
is very friendly. That's her in the lower middle of the picture.
She and 12 other goldfish are almost eight years old.
White Eyes greets me every morning when I go out to the pond
with coffee cup in one hand
and a handful of fish pellets in the other.
Perhaps me and my goldfish communicate on a level
most people don't experience .... with their goldfish.
When I watch them eat and swim about through the water lilies
and under the bridge,
and chase a bug in suicide-mode splashing about in the pond,
I know they are content in their water world.
Contentment ....
Thanks God ....
for this new sense of
contentment leading into
Summer of 2012.

And that's my early summer postcard to you all ...
with glimpses of what the Lord has given to me.
