Darkened Portals Of My Mind ..

Once I heard a sound in flight,
across the new laid fallen snow,
a sound encompassed to provoke,
in ruby reddened field a'cloak.

Twas not a sound of vastness, yet,
it caused a ripple to provoke -
a jesting, jossling, fibered rue,
to taunt my troubled mind anew.
A hideousness deeply rifted there,
be-grudgened not by just a few,
and lingered, lingered then took flight

Mindful of its total-ness,
upon the entrance to my mind,
it lay there down its ghastly jest,
to tether me in thoughts unrest.
"Awake now!" a shout unheard,
"a'fore cast blunders you anew,
and tears asunder sanity,
in darkened portals of the mind."

STOP! That's enough, don't tarry there,
nor linger on 'neath deathly bed,
but shaken now and sleepy eyed
to be awakened fast instead.
